Resisting Her English Doc Annie Claydon Books Reviews
- Dancer Fleur Miller had an accident while performing and ended up in rehab on the island she grew up on. It is there that she meets widowed Doctor Robert Fleming. Dr Fleming very quickly comes to realize that Fleur is simply doing the least amount of rehab she can do to get out and return to Boston. He is attracted to her but won’t act on it as she is his patient. Robert, along with his young daughter Ellie, came to Maple Island to start over after his wife had died. Fleur couldn’t wait to go back to Boston, she hated the Island because of the way she was treated when she was younger. Dr Fleming soon challenges Fleur which gets her motivated to work harder. After she is discharged, He gets the courage to ask her out. Soon a romance begins.
This was a very nice story. I liked the relationship between Robert and Fleur as it slowly developed into love and they helped each other heal. Little Ellie is cute as she asks her father is Fleur is his girlfriend. When Fleur has the choice to go to New York to work on Broadway, she has a tough decision. Once she is in NYC, she realizes what is important and returns back to Maple Island and her little family. I look forward to the other books in this series. - This is the second installment of this series and I want to move to Maple Island and live with these fabulous people, with their caring and thoughtful ways, this time we meet injured dancer Fleur Miller and Dr Rick Fleming and his daughter Ellie, for an emotional and beautiful journey to find happiness.
Fleur grew up on the island but after an incident that happened when she was young, at the age of fifteen she fled for her dancing career, but after a terrible accident she is home at the hospital recuperating, and here she meets the new doctor Rick Fleming who pushes her like no other to get well but he also pushes her sensual buttons there is a connection that cannot be denied.
Rick is English and is widowed with a young daughter, he moves to Maple Island to give his daughter Ellie and himself a good chance of leading a happy healthy life, but when he meets Fleur his emotions are running high in a good way this is his time to find love again for himself and Ellie, but there are a few hurdles to cross first.
This really is a beautifully written story, a story that flows with love and happiness but crosses hurdles that need to be bought out in the open. I loved Rick and Fleur and the determination and encouragement that was shared between them and Ellie is a delight to get to know. MS Claydon has added more to this community with her characters and I am looking forward to more in the series, this is a moving, sensual story that I highly recommend.
