The Book of Hot A Manifesto Mrs Hot 9780991205196 Books Reviews
- If you’re looking for some great advice on how to remain fabulous at any age, look no further than this book. Mrs. Hot, a well-known blogger and tour de force, gives an unabashed look at how sixty can be the new forty, or even thirty! She doesn’t mince words about love, life, and all that goes with it. Nope, she takes it head on and leaves you energized. There’s nothing wrong with aging; you’re just gaining more wisdom and experience in all aspects of womanhood! All I can say after reading this book is “rock on!â€
You’ll love her writing style, anecdotes, and advice. I know I did! You’ll gain some insights, especially on self-love. Loving yourself is the key to loving everyone else. I appreciated that honesty. Sometimes we just need a reminder. All in all, there’s a lot of tried-and-true advice from an expert in this book! - Okay, so I’m not a boomer-lady, and I haven’t hit 30 yet, but that doesn’t mean that this manifesto from Mrs. Hot isn’t everything I needed anyways! When I finished this honestly, I felt empowered to take on Samantha (Sex/city) as my new spirit animal — partially inspired by Mrs. Hot’s blatant love affair with New York.
The Book of Hot is funny, entertaining, and full of outright good information. I love how she drilled in on self-love being about more than taking control of your calorie intake (although generally unhealthy food should be avoided for many reasons). There was no skirting around the raw facts of talking about sex and womanhood. In fact, the bluntness was refreshing! Finally, some reference material for feeling wonderful and feminine and feeling zero-guilt for being aware of how you look or how looking a certain way makes you feel. - First of all, the author of this book chose to write under the name Mrs. Hot which in itself passes on a lot of strong messages. I particularly like the fact that at some point by just looking at the cover of the book I had some wild expectations of what I was actually going for. Even though I am not a lady, there are a lot of points I can borrow from this amazing well-organized work.
This book has elaborately written pages with a lot of guidelines for women around the age of 60 or thereabout who still hope to find love, romance, and spice up their sexual life. Besides being a book of transformation, it looks at the importance of loving one’s self and the importance of keeping a positive spirit all the time. Anybody can borrow from this point whether old or young.
“The Book of Hot†is well written to entertain the matured reader whether in their early 30s or in their late 60s. I find this book very interesting and useful. It offered me the opportunity to learn some new ideas I previously did not have knowledge about. - The Book of Hot! is a sexual health, love & romance, sexuality manifesto authored by Mrs. Hot about what women sixty and older can look forward to in regard to their sexual and romantic lives. Penned for "Boomers" it holds some truths and advice for those of us even decades away from that stage can store in our reserves.
The term "inner goddess" conjured up bad memories from Fifty Shades of Grey but beyond all that this is a tale of how Mrs. Hot changed not only her outlook on her love life but she changed careers, changed her lifestyle, transformed her health, improved her looks through diet, exercise and a whole lot of plastic surgery. I'll admit to questioning the avenue through which she achieved this being that she lived on savings in New York City. Overall it is an uplifting feminine, but not in your face feminist, self help book for women. Nice job, Mrs. Hot! - “The Book of Hot†is a compilation of personal stories and encounters, some of which have been published on her blog, “Mrs. Hot’s Diariesâ€. Mrs. Hot is a gorgeous goddess who has undergone a major transformation and her life is even more exuberant and sexier than years before. She shares her personal journey and encourages her female readers to also access their own inner goddess to create a fabulous life regardless of age.
Reading the book is like watching the popular series “Sex and the Cityâ€. It also feels like reading an extended gossip tabloid with stories that are juicy in details, astonishing as well as entertaining.
If you also share the same sentiments of one can never be too old to have an extravagant and exuberant lifestyle, then this book will most certainly be right down your alley. - The sole reason for deciding to read this book was the very intriguing title - Mrs. Hot. Although this book is far from my age of 27, I still enjoyed it because it offers a fresh perspective on how people in general presume life will turn out when we hit the big Six-Oh. Who said life has to stop once you reach a certain age? This is one more book that smashes the preconceived notions around age and its effects on life. It encourages women to embrace their inner Goddess or Diva and live life unapologetically. It doesn't matter if you're 40 or 60 or 70. What matters is how you live your life. Do you simply assume that there is only so much to life and give up the rest? Or do you give in to your desires, thoughts, passions and temptations and face life head on, doing things you want to do and pursuing that which makes you happy? Mrs. Hot can be a bit unabashed and in your face, but then that's what makes it all the more fun!
- “The Book of Hot A Manifesto†is a really, genuinely good book for women who are coming of age (and by that I mean pushing 60). This book is so cleverly and witty written that you can’t help but absolutely love the writer. Mrs. Hot writes in a manner that seems as if she is just chatting with you over a bottle of wine. She is fun, witty, humorous and absolutely inspiring. Whether you are new to your 60’s or well into them and are just needing a bit of a spark and some motivation into your life, this is a fabulous book that you will really appreciate reading.
